Onsite Safety Advisor/First Aid Attendant - Eagle Builders

We are recruiting an Onsite Safety Advisor/First Aid Attendant for a project in Merrit, BC to provide on-site support and ensure that the worksite meets or exceeds safety requirements. The successful candidate will be OFA level 2 certified. Must be local to the area and provide their own cell phone and transportation to the worksite.

The length of the project is tentatively 3 months with the possibility of extension, depending on construction progress. The position will be full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturdays as needed. Flexibility and overtime will be required.

Job Description Includes:
- Provide first aid as per WorkSafe BC legislation at the worksite
- Supervision of all workers both Eagle and sub-trades daily to correct unsafe acts and ensure safety conscience attitudes and work
- Complete daily site inspections, review hazard assessments and maintain updated onsite safety paperwork
- Ensure first aid is available and kits in stock, as well as fire extinguishers readily available and in working condition
- Conduct toolbox meetings to increase awareness of specific safety hazards
- Complete site-specific and sub-trade orientations

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (M.Sc. is an asset)

• A minimum 6 years of experience in structural design of buildings and structures in North America.
• Strong technical knowledge and fully familiar with Canadian design codes and standards (US design code experience is an asset)
• Familiarity with present-day structural design and analysis software
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
